Crying on the stand Mr Steenkamp said Pistorius must pay for his wrongdoing and solicited the court to show pictures from his girl’s body as a hindrance to would-be executioners.
He said, “I want the world to see. I want the world to see the photos of the wounds inflicted on her. To know my daughter’s pain. To know what her last few seconds were like, so that this is stopped – so that others do not have to go through this ever.” The final witness said People say we got the truth, but we didn’t. Oscar’s version changed so many times … He never apologised for shooting Reeva. I don’t feel the truth came out.
Roux said,It was not the man winning gold medals that must be judged … It was a 1.5-metre person, standing on his stumps, three o’clock in the morning when it was dark. After consulting Reeva’s parents, Mr Nel said: “Isn’t it time for the world to see what Oscar Pistorius did with Black Talon rounds to Reeva Steenkamp’s head?”
Judge Thokozile Masipa permitted six wrongdoing scene pictures to be discharged after Mr and Mrs Steenkamp experienced the painful procedure of picking which ones they needed to be imparted to people in general. In the realistic pictures the degree of Reeva’s wounds can be seen after she was shot four times with Black Talon slugs. A portion of the photos demonstrate her hair tangled with blood and extreme wounding around her eye which a pathologist said amid his trial was created by the effect of the bullet on her skull.
She testified that the Reeva Steenkamp Murdered three years ago irrevocably changed her family. “As a family we will never be able to carry (on) normally,” she said. “I saw my dad, for instance, cry for the very first time when Reeva died, and then for the second time when he heard I would have to testify again.
Looking frail, Pistorius, who had changed out of his suit and into shorts and a T-shirt, required assistance as he walked unsteadily across the courtroom Wednesday. He stared at the floor and started weeping as Roux spoke about the killing.
