Tony Awards 2014 Nominations Are Announced

Tony Awards 2014 Nominations Are Announced “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” are leading the list of Tony Awards 2014 nominations. The nominees of American Theatre Wing’s awards were announced by Lucy Liu and Jonathan Groff on Tuesday April 29, 2014.

The musical comedy by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak is nominated for the ten categories. While “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” is on the second place with eight categories. “After Midnight”, “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical”, “The Glass Menagerie” and “Twelfth Night” are nominated for the seven categories each.

Neil Patrick Harris, Ramin Karimloo, Andy Karl, Jefferson Mays, Bryce Pinkham, are nominated for the “Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical.” The nominees for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical’ are Kelli O’Hara, Sutton Foster, Idina Menzel, Jessie Mueller and Mary Bridget Davies.

Estelle Parsons, Tyne Daly, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Cherry Jones, and Audra McDonald are nominated for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play’. Paul Chahidi, Stephen Fry, Reed Birney, Brian J. Smith and Mark Rylance are nominated for the ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play.’
